|2007 alumni perseveres toward umpiring goals|

Kyle Knepper, Class of 2007 - Knepper was featured in a story on KSDK Ch. 5 for persevering in with his umpiring dream after being injured in a serious car accident. Having attended the prestigious Harry Wendelstedt School for Umpires in Florida, Knepper's umpiring goals were sidelined by 23 surgeries and a leg amputation after the accident.
Still, Knepper achieved his goal of walking again one year after the accident with his new prosthetic leg. He was recently hired by the Lincoln County Sheriff's office as a dispatcher and plans to resume his umpiring career this spring or summer, according to the story.
