1995 alumnus selected to speak at Midwest business conference

Sonia Deal, Class of 1995 - Deal was selected to be a featured speaker at the 13th Annual St. Louis Business Journal Women's Conference on Jan. 26 at the St. Louis Union Station Hotel. The event draws together nearly 1,000 businesswomen from across the Midwest.

According to the event program, Deal is founder of DEAL-C2 (or Diabetes Education Augmenting Lifestyles- Center and Clinic, LLC). She is a registered nurse with more than 18 years of experience. Deal earned a bachelor's degree in nursing from Southern Illinois University and master's degree in nursing with a specialization in healthcare and nursing administration. She was honored in 2017 with the Salute to Young Leaders Award from the St. Louis American Foundation.

DEAL-C2 is a new company that provides specialized diabetes education, care and services to diabetic and pre-diabetic clients.
