1992 alumnus makes NCAA debut as assistant coach with SLU basketball team

Corey Tate, Class of 1992 - Tate made his NCAA debut as assistant coach of the Saint Louis University Billikens mens basketball team. The Billikens earned a trip to the NCAA Tournament after winning the Atlantic 10 Conference tournament title on March 17 after defeating St. Bonaventure 55-53.

The SLU team earned a No. 13 seed in the 2019 NCAA Division I basketball championship, but fell to Virginia Tech 52-66 in the first round. The trip to this year's NCAA contest marked SLU's first trip to the national tournament since 2014 and Tate's first time at nationals since joining the team as assistant coach in 2016.
