2016 alumnus selected by St. Louis Cardinals

Anthony Green, Class of 2016 - Green was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 33rd round of the 2019 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft, 995th overall.

The 6-foot-4, 210-pound right-handed pitcher from Jefferson College was picked by the team that plays where he grew up.

Green tweeted, "Could not be more thankful of the St. Louis Cardinals for taking a chance on a kid from St. Louis ... and to everyone who’s been there for the ride, THANK YOU. Let’s get this thing going!!"

While at Pattonville, Green was the 2016 Suburban XII South player of the year and was named to First Team as both a pitcher and shortstop. Upon signing with the Cardinals, Green will be assigned to a minor league affiliate.
