2019 alumnus named first-year senator for SLU student government

Aric Hamilton, Class of 2019 - Hamilton was selected as one of four first-year senators for the Saint Louis University (SLU) Student Government Association.

"As a first-year senator, I have the honor and privilege of representing the largest (1,900 students) and most diverse cohorts in the 201-year history of Saint Louis University," Hamilton said. "My duties are to: inspire and empower student voice in matters of student interest by working collaboratively with students, faculty, staff and administration; review current, changing or new policies of the university; act on legislation concerning the SLU community; serve as a steward for inclusion by working to ensure that every space on a SLU campus is safe, welcoming and inclusive; serve on the Committee for Student Organizations by supporting chartered student organizations and developing student organizations as well as uphold the ideals and values of the Jesuit tradition."

Hamilton is pursuing a bachelor's degree in secondary social studies/history education at SLU.
