Staff members at Pattonville High School presented their MVP (Most Valuable Pirate) Awards to 121 students in grades nine through 12. Each staff member selected one outstanding student to receive an MVP medallion award during a special awards ceremony at the school on April 21.
The program was sponsored by the school's Renaissance program, which encourages a commitment to academic excellence based upon recognition of academic performance, attendance and citizenship.
The following students crossed the stage and met the staff member that selected them as their nomination was read aloud to those in the audience.
Pattonville High School modern language teachers Shelley Christian and Dr. Silvia J. Hilker were nominated as a Hero Teacher by 2019 graduate and current Truman State University student Emily Johnson.
The Area-Wide Middle School Book Battle was held on May 4 at Pattonville Heights Middle School with 20 in-person teams and six that joined virtually. Holman Middle School, Pattonville Heights Middle School and Remington Traditional School each had a team competing at the event.
Three “Future Pirates” were honored today as graduates and 12 other students were celebrated as first and second year participants at the Pattonville High School play school graduation.
