With everything going on amid the coronavirus pandemic, here’s a little bit of good news: Kate Schneider, an Early Childhood special education speech-language pathologist, is now cancer-free and doing well.
On Dec. 31, she was diagnosed with breast cancer at 39 weeks pregnant.
“2020 brought aggressive chemotherapy and radical surgeries while raising a newborn in a global pandemic,” she wrote in an email. “I am now, humbly and gratefully, CANCER-FREE.”

“Miss Kathy” was one of three Pattonville bus drivers working with Drummond Elementary School students today teaching them about the importance of bus safety. Classes took turns getting onto a bus where students were able to practice a school bus evacuation.
“Before we go out the back door, we go over all the different scenarios and talk about what they might have to do if there is an emergency while they are on the bus,” Miss Kathy said.

Dear Pattonville families and staff,
On Oct. 5, county officials announced recommendations in favor of the return of in-person learning for high school students, as the spread of COVID-19 has dropped to favorable levels in St. Louis County and among children of all ages. For this reason, we have determined that we will bring Pattonville High School students back for phase 2 of in-person learning beginning Thursday, Oct. 29.
